Description

EFNEP – A research-based program that assists limited-resource adults who care for children in their home as well as limited-income youth in gaining knowledge, skills, attitudes and changed behavior for nutritionally sound diets. The Adult Nutrition class series includes 8 classes that cover:

  • Reading food labels
  • Making healthy food choices
  • How to save money on groceries
  • Cooking skills and meal planning
  • Preparing new recipes
  • Keeping food safe
  • Ways to incorporate physical activity daily

Participants receives incentives for attending classes: recipes, grocery list, measuring cups and spoons, meat thermometer, vegetable brush and a cookbook when they graduate after attending all eight lessons.

Eligible for EFNEP Nutrition Classes? Individuals who are eligible for assistance programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), WIC, Head Start, and WORC programs are eligible for all EFNEP nutrition classes, email or call to register for the next available series of classes.
